We would like to invite you to take part in a research project.

This research aims to investigate the views and experiences of users of the OPIS IVF Prediction calculator. This research will be used to inform the researchers on ways to improve the prediction calculator. This research is being completed as a Master of Public Health research project at the University of Aberdeen.

What will be expected of me if I take part?
This study invites women who are undergoing IVF treatment and their partners who have used the OPIS IVF Prediction Calculator. You will be asked to complete an online survey of 18 questions.

At the end of the survey, you will be asked if you wish to volunteer for a follow-up telephone/video call online interview, which will explore your survey responses in more detail. If you agree to this, this can be done at a time of your convenience.  The interview is not compulsory – you can complete the survey and end your participation there. By choosing to only complete the survey you can remain anonymous. You can also choose to withdraw from this study at any time, without giving a reason – let us know and we can remove your survey and/or interview information. By completing the survey and submitting it to the research team, consent is assumed.

How long will it take?
The online survey questions should take no more than 10 minutes and the optional follow-up interview will be completed at a time of your convenience and will last no more than an hour.

What are the possible risks of taking part?
While the survey is not designed to cause distress, should you feel that the questions highlight concerns about your physical or mental health, we would refer you to the following resources:

Are there any possible benefits?
There are no direct benefits from participating in this study; however, a summary of the study’s findings can be emailed to you if you wish to gain more understanding of user perceptions of the OPIS Online Fertility predictor.

What happens to any information that is obtained?
Any information that we collect about you during the course of the research will be kept strictly confidential and contact details will be used solely for the purposes of making contact with you for a telephone/online video call interview. You will not be identified in any reports or publications. All data will be kept in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If you consent to taking part in the online survey please continue to the survey. If you consent to a follow-up interview, further information will be provided by email after you have completed the survey and indicated your interest in further participation in the study.
